Student: Completing an Assessment

How to Complete an Assessment

1. Log in to the CourseKey mobile app.

2. Tap on the hamburger menu at the top left to select your course.

3. Tap the green Open button in the activities tile.

Note: If you have multiple assessments available you will be able to swipe right to left to access the others. If you do not see any assessments drag the Activities tile down to refresh.

4. Answer the questions to the best of your ability and select Next.

5. Once you finish your assessment tap Submit and then you will have two options:

a. Review - This will allow you to review your answers one final time before you submit them.

b. Close Assessment - This will close your assessment and you will not be able to review your answers.

Answering Assessment Questions

Questions will be displayed one at a time on the screen. Different actions are required depending on the question type. In the example below, a matching question would require dragging and dropping the available options into the appropriate location. Other questions may require text, drawing, or simply selecting the correct answer.

When you've finished answering a question, press Next.

Student Time Limit

Some assessments will have a time limit with a countdown that begins when you first open the assessment. If a time limit applies you'll see a blue banner at the top of the assessment with your remaining time.

All answers must be submitted before your individual time limit runs up.

Note: The time limit will not extend past the scheduled close time. For example: If an assessment has a 30-minute time limit and is scheduled to close in 15 minutes, only 15 minutes are available to complete the assessment.

Saving Your Progress

As you work through your assessment your answers will be auto-saved every 15 seconds. However, if your device loses connection a banner will be displayed to alert you that your answers have not been saved.

You can continue to answer questions, but you must reconnect to WiFi or mobile data to save the additional responses.

Submitting your Answers

When you reach the final question you'll have the option to submit your assessment. After submitting you can close the assessment or return to review your answers.

Note: After submitting your answers you will return to the course tiles. To complete an additional assessment return to Step 2.

Attendance Check-in Requirement

Some assessments require that student's check-in for attendance before they can access the assessment. An error will be displayed if you attempt to open the assessment before you've checked in to class successfully. To access the assessment, return to the course page, check-in for attendance, and then return to open the assessment.
